Welcome to The Feltson Bible! This is a must read if you happen to be a Feltson shipper. I've gathered past articles analyzing the history of the two and the reasoning why they grew apart. You'll see clips, photos, tweets, and interviews pieced together to form a story from all the way back in 2000 when they met on the Harry Potter auditions, until today. There isn't a section for the years 2013-2014 since nothing really noticable happened as Emma and Tom were both very busy, especially with their love lives. Special thanks to the brilliant minds who've contributed to the writing and investigating of this piece.

2000-2008: The G(olden) Days

DRAMIONE

 

I've noticed there are just too many speculations/theories out there about this pair so I've thought of compiling all of them to share because I've been in the wonderful ship of Dramione for far too long, have witnessed the change and have witnessed the ups and downs and found out that I'm actually not the only one who noticed certain things about their muggle counterparts… the FeltSon.

Dramione is such a forbidden but beautiful ship, but have any of you ever wondered that a very real Dramione fanfiction might have actually happened or is currently happening in our eyes right now? If you come to think about it, the Feltson controversy is every bit like a Dramione fanfiction: forbidden, frustrating, teasing, tempting, and wrong; yet, you just can’t get enough of it!

 

Now, let’s go way back to how they both met. It was in the year 2000, their very first audition. Even there, we can tell that fate was trying to get them together.An interview clip of Tom Felton from CNN:

 

“I also remember auditioning here. The crazy thing about the audition was that, at my very first audition — when they had thousands of kids in, day in day out — Emma Watson was standing next to me and we did it together. And I came back in two weeks and she had been cast!”’

So, out of the thousands of kids out there, Emma and Tom were made to do the lines together, and both have been cast two weeks after. Even when they were still very young, the producers could really tell that they were just perfect together. I don’t know about you, but really, this kind of thing happens once in a blue moon.

 

And in this time, Emma already harbored a secret crush on him (and she would have to confess this, years after, in 2009 on the Regis and Kelly show and on Seventeen Magazine).

It was the start.

Both had then been really great friends, or maybe, more than that? We can’t really tell, can we? We practically saw them together everywhere. Scooby Doo Premiere Part 2 (2002), Tom and Emma watched it together:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

At Disney Awards Best DVD, Tom and Emma also went together. The way they looked at each other and stuck with each other against that really big crowd made them look like they were each others’ familiar comfort.

Also, if you have been Tom’s long time fan, you would know that he was fond of posting blogs before on his official website tomfelton.com (although now, it was all erased and is replaced by nothing but his picture since it’s not so active like it was before).

 

There was this page where he had answered some frequently asked questions from his fans:He answered this when he was asked about going out with Emma Watson: “Am I going out with Emma? She's a lovely girl who's really pretty but I'm not going out with her. I wish!”And then there was this one question he answered: “Do I have any pets? I don't at the moment but we have had rabbits and a chinchilla in the past. I always wanted a dog but my mum said with 4 boys to look after she couldn't afford a dog! But maybe I'll have a dog one day." So yes, he definitely has Timber years after that. But what about his other wish? You know, about dating Emma? *cough* Can this somehow be connected with everything that has happened as well?

 

And then there was this behind the scene where Emma was in her Gryffindor attire, wearing a Slytherin jumper around her waist. In the background, you can definitely see Tom not wearing his, like she had playfully wore his own jumper around her waist. It was too adorable. It was too obvious.

At the POA after Party (2004), they danced together and practically acted like they really were dating each other, with those touches and closeness.

"I notice Emma Watson (Hermione) eyeing him and slowly making her way over to us. Brian starts telling Tom about how he has to put up with all my Harry Potter crap all over the apartment. Tom starts laughing and says “Yeah I have to put up with all *her* friends stuff!” and he motions over to Emma who is about 5 feet away and then he steps forward, grabs her arm and pulls her next to him. Their arms locked. She was smiling at him and asked him “What?” but he just laughed. So we then took a “couples only” :) picture. Tom was also interviewed in this party. The interviewer asked him if he has a girlfriend, and he said “yes”, but he also didn’t say who it was. So it’s either he had a girlfriend but was still flirting with Emma OR Emma was his girlfriend. And as we all know, Tom isn’t the kind of guy who would just flirt with another like THAT when he knows he is already committed with someone.

The fandom became huge in those years. I can still remember how happy everything was. When contraveritas.com was on (again, if you’ve been a Dramione fan for years, then you’ll know this famous, amazing site), there was always this latest news about them. They were just too close and so comfortable with each other.

By the year 2007, Dramione was golden.

On April 12, 2007, statistically, Dramione had the largest amount of fics and supporters on Fanfiction.net.

Being added by Tom and Emma’s obvious closeness with each other, it produced thousands of believers.

Here is a clip of Tom and Emma fooling around and dancing together at the yuleball behind the scenes. In this time, they were rumored to still be together. Tom and Emma acted like Draco and Hermione themselves, making a Dramione movie scene.

Ah, happy times…

Then both danced playfully. You can see before this clip that Tom was obviously trying to get her attention, impishly displaying his robes to her when she was with Stanislav Ianevski (Viktor Krum).

And when Stanislav and Emma were practicing together, Tom was at the corner, looking at them from a distance. When the camera caught him, he said: “Oh look at that, look at that. Star of the night. Lucky man, lucky man.”

There are just too many implications when you go deeper to this, like why would he even be staring at her at the corner like that? Yes, we know that Emma’s too pretty to be ignored, but why would the camera catch him if it wasn’t that obvious? And when he said, “lucky man”, did Tom really mean it was Stanislav because he got to dance with her at the yuleball, or did Tom mean… that Emma was the star of the night and he was the lucky man for having Emma as his girl in real life? (Just an opinion I have to share).

So they were actually supporting Dramione, huh?

2008-2012: Sexual Tension

I guess 2008 was the year that twisted it all.


On Jan 31, 2008; Tom recorded a video of him singing his own composition “Time Isn’t Healing” under the name feltbeats.

So basically, something happened in here. It’s either Tom’s relationship with this girl he’s talking about in his song has declined, or there was certain complications that’s why he needs to let her go and move on, or he was in love with the girl he couldn’t have.

Whatever it was, you can tell that this song is a very sad one, like deeming on the things you just can’t have any longer, and that even if you don’t want to, you just have to let go. Maybe because the love isn’t reciprocated anymore? Or it just couldn’t be because of a certain hurdle or complication? Whatever it was, this song is still about his struggle to let go of the girl he is still obviously in love with, regardless of what the girl feels about him.

Would this explain about the coming March 2008? Or is it just really coincidental that in this time, Emma started dating Jay Barrymore?

And just a few months after this Tom also started dating Jade Olivia? They were first spotted at the Dark Knight premiere at London on July 2008.

But really, even this fact can be overlooked.

Even their gf and bf seemed to be okay with each other.

So they have their own relationships then, no need to get stressed up, maybe they didn’t really date before. Maybe it was just a rumor.

The issue could have ended there, really…

People wouldn’t have to bother investigating and getting confused, you know… IF ONLY Tom and Emma’s relationship towards one another didn’t start crumbling down!

If you can’t tell the difference then what the hell?

The last we ever saw them being together (besides HP premieres and stuff that they were forced to be) was on April 2008, on Emma’s 18th bday.

Tom attended it.

But what really bugs me is the fact why Emma seemed a little bit, I don’t know, off? Or maybe it was just the pictures?

Okay, so let’s pretend I didn’t point that out. So what if she was just really tired, right? Or there were other things occupying her mind at the moment.

But don’t you just wonder what happened inside? Or what did Tom give her as her 18th present? Or if their interaction was the same as that on the POA After party?

Or did it change?

Still, maybe, we can overlook that… IF ONLY, Tom and Emma didn’t become too obvious of their coldness towards each other!

Maybe the interviewer was exaggerating or was being biased at a certain Dailymail interview, but this part really bugs me:

---I detect just the slightest hint of frost when he talks about Emma — although he would be far too polite to ever criticise her.

‘I haven’t seen so much of her,’ he says lightly. ‘She is very professional and seems like an intelligent lady.

But when he talks of his own plans one day — when the madness has died down — to attend an American university for a year, he does not want to follow the route taken by Emma, who attends Brown University in Rhode Island and dates rockers.

‘I would not want there to be a big hoo-ha about what I am doing. I would want to do it really quietly.’

The moment I’ve read about that, I couldn’t really stop thinking. It was so far from his old interviews years ago about Emma. They’ve always been very close; he had never failed to praise her, to talk about her adoringly. And now, this?

But more than that, the interviewer seemed to be too bias and exaggerated. So I forgave Tom for those answers.

BUT THEN came the MTV awards.

People, especially Dramione/Feltson fans have been very excited before that, seeing that Tom and Emma were scheduled by MTV to present the clip together.

But then, Emma had to be left ALONE presenting the awards. The worse thing that MTV actually ‘unconsciously’ did was to show that part at the VIP backstage stream.

My eyes were popping when I saw it and replayed it over and over again. 

 

It was at 03:03:00 http://www.mtv.com/ontv/movieawards/2011/vip-pass.jhtml on this, but MTV has already deleted the live preview now.

I don’t really venture on Tom and Jade’s interaction. There was no fight whatsoever, as oppose to other people’s opinions/observations. You can’t really tell something with those expressions, maybe Tom looked a bit tired? Annoyed? Upset? When he was walking after Jade as she went out of the backstage (followed by the camera). But the place was a rollercoaster. Maybe he just wanted a break?

We can’t really tell, so we can’t judge.

But one thing that really bugs me is the fact that MTV has shown the live stream and while Emma was presenting the award, it was also the time that the camera caught Tom and Jade walking out.

I wish the vid wasn’t taken down by MTV, but here you go with the stilled picture:

Coincidence? Really, do we need more happenstance than this?

By this time, people started talking about it. Hell, both of them even became trending topics at twitter as well.

People started on bombarding Tom so he tweeted:

But really, how couldn’t he not know???

Everyone knew that Emma was coming! Even feltbeats.com tweeted it that he and Emma are going to present it together! And fans have already tweeted him on how excited they were that he and Emma are going to present it.

 

Okay, so let’s say that what if he really didn’t know or wasn’t asked by MTV to present. Or maybe he didn’t read all those tweets??? Let’s pretend it’s like that, then.

So why the hell didn’t they even have a SINGLE picture together? What crushed me deeply was the fact that Tom and Emma were the ONLY HP casts in there. The least they could do was to at least talk a bit, even maybe say hi? Or just acknowledge each other as they were together in one event?

But NO. Nothing like that ever happened.

That night really did it for me; questioning all those moments in my mind on how drastic was the change they have, really.

They were no longer the Tom and Emma I’ve known before, where they’d always laugh at each other, tease each other and just be comfortable with each other because they’re really good friends.

Hell, when Emma got her twitter, fans have bombarded Tom to follow her and welcome her as he was always welcoming to all his cast mates whenever one would have twitter. He would always follow his cast mates, would even make a tweet to them once in a while…

But guess what who’s the only cast mate he knows that has a twitter that he isn’t following until now? ............ EMMA!

Actually, even Emma doesn’t follow him as well.

And yes, he knows Emma has a twitter. He totally replied to one fan where she said that he loves him and @EmWatson and that both of them are her inspiration. Yes, the girl already gave him Emma’s twitter name, and yes he replied by saying thank you, but yes, he still didn’t follow her!

And then there was this tweet he RT-ed from @HarryPotterFilm where it said: #HarryPotter took home 7 #TCAs last night! Congrats to Dan Radcliffe, @EmWatson, @TomFelton & the rest of the cast/crew

And after the awards night, Tom tweeted that there is no after party for him and he’s heading back to his hotel.

Why Tom? Because Emma was there?

And yes, people. There was a time when the two had the chance to at least say hello, but they didn’t acknowledge it. It was in this live stream again, one of our followers spotted it and sent it to us on how for a very short time, Emma went out, don’t know if she had seen Tom and Jade but in a second had purposely turned to the other side (again, we can’t really tell if she saw them or not, as her head discreetly went the other way as if nothing happened).

Again, we can’t judge because everything was a little bit of a chaos that day, with celebrities here and there, and with those screaming fans. And when you watch the livestream, you just have to pop your eyes open just to witness everything.
 

And do you guys know that there was a time where Tom stalked Emma’s twitter even if they're not following each other?

I mean, there is nothing, and I mean NOTHING coincidental about these tweets!

Stare at all the uppercase/lowercase, spaces, abbreviations etc. and you’ll know that it was definitely a copy paste!

And he DOES read her tweets but is not following her?

Hmm, just too fishy, don’t you think?

Now, this brings us to the Jade issue.

Personally, I really hated her before, hated her so much actually UNTIL I suddenly felt really guilty at the end when I tried to think of things more. And realized I don't have the right to hate on her.

What if she’s not really the reason of these all?

What if she was really caught in the middle in this issue because she was the recent girlfriend and Tom and Emma just couldn’t get over of the past that they’re acting really strange towards each other?

We can’t really judge her and in truth, we really don’t know her at all.

And when you come to think about it, sometimes, we, the Dramione/Feltson can be a part of Tom and Emma’s awkwardness as well.

Now, think about what Tom would have been feeling that time? Of course, he would have to be protective of his girlfriend.

Dailymail had once pointed out Emma and Jade’s rivalry at this article.

 

And it’s scary to think that with this entire hate Jade syndrome, we are actually making it even harder for both Tom and Emma to stay friends, or to even talk without awkwardness now.

There are just too many what ifs that we can’t just stay away from it all. Because Tom and Emma, whatever it had been for the both of them before, had something very special.

Dave (one of the interviewers): “Emma Watson said, the lovely Emma Watson said, you’re the only person she kissed in the Harry Potter movie franchise that turned her on. How are you feeling about that, Tom Felton?”

Tom: "I, uh - I, uhh, wow. [mumbling]… big statement. Um, uh, yeah, I’m very flattered, Emma and I have been friends for a very long time, so it kind of… feels a little strange when she’d say that…”

Can you just imagine his face? The way his voice sounded, and the way he stammered and stuttered just confirmed it all!!!

And when we thought it was over…. Suddenly, AFTER THIS, Tom tweeted her name! And ONLY her name!

I don’t know about you, but if I’m very nervous of something, or is unconsciously thinking of someone, I’d likely to make mistakes… like maybe tweeting the name of the person? ALONE?

Then he DELETED it after 2 minutes!

Then when he probably just realized his mistake, he then sent Dave some grumpy tweets and about Emma making up the ‘turned on’ comment… but here’s the key, you guys, he still didn’t deny the kiss! 

 

 

And this brings us back to his interview about his first kiss… around the time when he was working on Chamber of Secrets, on a spin the bottle game with friends. *cough*.
And when Emma Watson was asked if she would wanted to kiss Tom at the Deathly Hallows press conference, she said: “My twelve year old self, absolutely. But my twenty one year old self, no"

I can point out even more evidences about this pair but it's too many!

We have our own fanfiction happening here that other ships don't have. So no matter how frustrating it gets, hell, no one can sink this ship!

 

DRAMIONE SCREAMS SEXUAL TENSION

Feltson is like a really angsty Dramione fanfiction... only it's real, and Tom and Emma are the authors themselves.

 

Only God knows, really.

But whatever the ending is, I know, that all of us, Dramione/Feltson shippers will stick with each other until the end, with tissues or not.

Everything is just Dramione/Feltson, and yes, sometimes it hurts, but hell, we will go down with this ship even if it's unsinkable!

2015-2016: Picking Up

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Studios Hollywood is now officially open.  Tom was at the grand opening and did an interview with Seventeen Magazine. Specifically, Tom did an interview about what really happened between him and Emma. As a Dramione and Feltson shipper, my first reaction was OH SWEET! It’s been years that Emma or Tom has talked about each other. So this is like a huge thing. Let’s break it down, shall we?

In 0:05, the interviewer first mentioned about Emma. Tom immediately looked downwards. It might be the sunlight that made him frown since he was already kind of frowning before the interviewer mentioned Emma.

And then he bent down to fix something. Maybe there really was something that he had to fix or maybe he was just hiding his nervousness? Then the interviewer finished asking the question, which is “What about obviously, it’s been a big thing that uh, Emma Watson said that she fancied you, anything going on there between you two?” He stammered and fidgeted nervously as the interviewer described in the article. Even the interviewer could sense Tom’s nervousness. “No I, uh, haha, uh, um no.” Tom replied with a smile. If you watched his reaction carefully, you could see that he paused at 0:12. It was a 1 sec pause, but you could see that he was hesitant. I don’t know about you, but if I was asked about whether there is anything going on between me and someone that fancies me (assume that I do not fancy that person), I would not hesitate and would just say no.

Nothing’s going on? 

​

Let’s just assume they kissed because Emma pretty much admitted it and Tom didn’t deny it. So, if they kissed, that shouldn’t be counted as nothing. Also, Tom and Emma didn’t follow each other on Twitter, even though they knew (Check 2008-2011) each other’s account. If there is nothing going on, why are they not following each other? Tom follows all his cast mates, why did he not follow Emma? There is something between them and Tom was denying it in the interview.

 

In 2015, anyone recalls that Emma was confirmed to be the actress of Beauty of the Beauty and the Beast movie? But the role of Beast was still unconfirmed. Then #FeltonForTheBeast happened. People went crazy, I am not even joking, I went crazy as well. There was a petition about it and there were 1340 signatures. (Click here to see the petition.)

Guys, this happened! This is real I’ve checked. Jade was on our side, fishy much? But at last, Tom was not casted. Hmm, the petition was a success, even Jade was on our side, what could’ve possibly gone wrong? I think the problem was between Tom and Emma themselves. They haven’t addressed the trend #FeltonForTheBeast. This whole thing is very fishy, I’m sorry I can’t stop assuming there’s something between them. But it was good old time, I missed the feeling of hope and everyone went crazy together. *sings ‘we’re all in this together’* Feltson in a movie together as a couple, it’s like a dream come true!

 

Back to the interview, then the interviewer asked the second question. “Mm hmm, did you know she liked you at that time?” The interviewer asked. “No.” Tom answered almost immediately and shortly. He answered a little bit too quickly, don’t you think? He answered without hesitation this time.

And it just broke my heart, it still does.”

Emma said Tom totally knew. So, did Tom know or did he not? In the interview, after Tom said no, the interviewer said “No worries, I mean I’m assuming there must have been some crushes or stuff on the set.”then Tom said no again. He mentioned about they all grew up in a family-esque environment. The ‘family-esque’ part explains the ‘younger, sisterly way’ part. So he did see Emma in a younger, sisterly way. Hmm, normally you don’t tell everyone or the girl herself that you see her in a younger, sisterly way unless something happened, yeah? It is like clarifying and making it clear. Normally when a boy and a girl hang out, the boy wouldn’t suddenly tell the girl “Hey I just see you as a sister, so yeah…”, unless the girl made the boy think that there’s something other than friendship in their relationship. Assume he knew about Emma’s crush and he just wanted to make sure that he didn’t like her in that way and not wanting others to misunderstand?

Also, Emma said “And it just broke my heart, it still does.” ‘It still does” is the main point. The year she did that interview is 2012. She has finished filming all Harry Potter films at that time. In fact, 2012 was one year after the year Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow Part 2 was released. So after all those years, the fact that Tom only saw her as a younger, sisterly way still breaks her heart. Wow, that’s a really huge statement, Emma.

Moving on, back to the interview, Tom mentioned about Dramione. He said the famous Dramione punch in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was considered flirtatious. Hmm, Tom, how did you know that it was considered flirtatious? He also knew that Hermione would have to ‘slap’ Draco in the third film when they were shooting the second one. So he actually asked Emma to slap him as a rehearsal. Ooh Tom, you really wanted to get slapped by Emma? Um, I’m getting a little bit sidetracked here.
